Well, mine was no exception. A messy break-up in my 20’s taught me self-love and boundaries, lessons that I needed to learn.

But the journey didn't stop there.

Anxiety showed me the power of affirmations.

Countless visits to the OBGYN and ER, seeking answers for menstrual pain and endometriosis, ignited my inner advocate. I learned to trust my intuition and demand better care for my body.

Years of relying on birth control with no relief led me to cycle syncing, revealing the innate wisdom our bodies hold.

Seeking a way to get back to feeling like myself brought me to yoga — it not only sculpted my body but also empowered my mind and spirit.

These experiences—the heartbreaks, the setbacks, and the wins —are the reason I health coach.

What is health coaching, exactly?

Health coaching is about partnership. Think of me, Atiya, as someone who's in your corner, offering support as you make positive lifestyle changes. It's not about me telling you what to do; it's about us working together to figure out what you want to do and how to get there.

You're in the driver's seat. You decide what your health goals are and what you want to do to achieve them. Many clients hire a health coach to help them implement the recommendations of a doctor, dietician, or therapist.

How do I approach coaching?

Overall, you can expect a conversational experience that invites you to consider new perspectives, lean into your strengths, and cultivate a new mindset.

You’ll do most of the talking - coming to each session prepared with a health-related topic.

I’ll ask the questions that move you forward and offer guidance that honors your goals and needs.

Research shows that having a health coach makes a difference in improving things like fitness levels, weight, and even managing chronic conditions like stress.

We'll chat about what's important to you, set some targets, and come up with an action & accountability plan that fits your life and needs.

I understand human behavior and motivation, and I use this knowledge to help you shape healthy habits that stick.

Health Coach vs Doctor’s Office

As a health coach, I do not replace the role of your doctor. I do not diagnose, treat, or prescribe. In fact, many clients hire a health coach to implement the recommendations of their doctor.

I am not qualified to offer diet-specific meal plans. Legally, only registered dieticians can prescribe meal plans. As your coach, I can provide meal guidelines and nutritional support for healthy living.

I’m also not a therapist, although our sessions may feel like therapy. I won’t be digging into your trauma or deep past. Instead, we focus on where you are now, how it’s effecting you, and tapping into your strengths to move forward.
